PRACTICE CURRENTLY FULL

Rebekah Otim

(she/her)

Education: MSW, RSW

Background: Rebekah’s therapeutic work is informed by over 10 years of community practice in the non-profit sector both in Vancouver and Toronto, working primarily with young adults, Black, Indigenous, and other people of colour, and 2SLGBTQ+ folks.

Specialty: Supporting people who are unpacking identity, bi- and multi-racial experiences, spirituality, relationship issues, race, gender, and sexual traumas, the impacts of colonialism, alternative relationship structures, and substance use.

Approach: Rebekah creates an open, non-judgemental, and warm space for clients.  She uses an integrative approach to therapy that draws from somatic-based, mindfulness-based, narrative, trauma-informed, and attachment-based practices.

Perspective: Rebekah works from a relational, collaborative, non-judgemental, decolonial, and anti-oppressive lens.  She believes we each possess resources to support us through both the ease and challenges of life and feels therapy can help clients learn to build on their resources.
